Isn't it ridiculous how one conversation can change how you feel for days afterwards? I haven't been this cheerful in ages. If you read this and know what I'm talking about then you know whose fault it is that I'm so excited and happy. It stupid really because nothing has really changed that much, but it feels like it has and I can't stop smiling to myself.
Nothing lights my imagination on fire quite like photography does. Lately I've been spending enormous amounts of time looking at photography on pinterest, tumblr, and facbook to find inspiration. This is just a post to show some of the things that have caught my attention lately. These types of conceptual photography have really appealed to me because of how much time I spend day dreaming. They have this dreamy or surreal quality that I find really intriguing because I want to take photos that can somehow show this idea. Everyone has daydreams and fantasizes about something, and I've been trying to figure out how to portray those sorts of themes. Now I just need to find a model to help me out. All my best ones have moved away so now I'm up a river of ideas with out a paddle. Anyway keep an eye out and with any luck I will have some of my own photos to share again.
In which I talk about school and ramble about everything that comes to mind.So.
School is going again. And it's probably going to kill me. I'm taking 17 credit hours and working 2 TA jobs, not to mention that independent study class that I still haven't finished Unit 1. So yeah. It kinda funny because I can clearly remember registering for freshman year and talking to Kristen and Micah while we were still at home and they were both all like: "Yeah I'm taking 17 credit hours. I think that's a pretty solid number. It should be good." Totally nonchalant because for people like them with 4.0 GPAs and 10 credit hours of AP classes it really was pretty much right up their alley. So there I was thinking that 17 was an average amount of credits to have. Then a month into it I was struggling to stay above water. And now I'm a senior and I'm doing it again. And I'm doing it knowing what it was like the first time and yet somehow that didn't stop me. Wish me luck. I will need it. So incase you you ever considered getting sick over Chrismtas: Don't do it. Four of us got stomach flu yesterday and it was bad news. I was literally bed ridden for 8 hours yesterday. It was really boring not to mention all the awful parts that go along with stomach flu. Today I am 100x better. Still not quite at full speed but I can eat solid food again so that's good.
In other news Christmas day was pretty great and I got lots of sweet presents. Remember a while back when I said I was going to have to buy new camera lens? Well my parents got me three new lens for Christmas. I am super lucky :D Anyway I hope all of you have had a good break so far. And here are a few pictures from my grandma's house on Christmas morning. Well Brianne and I made it home in one piece, and based on the time we left we made it home in 9 hours and 45 minutes. That is really fast. Especially since it was snowing part of the way and then really foggy another part of the way etc. Anyway when I got home I unpacked and ate dinner and then we kind of just sat around. With just three people we're a bit quiet and boring. We watched some tv and then I went to bed.
On Saturday I went to Chili Works and got myself a super light green with cheese, seriously the best burrito of my life and it is a travesty that I don't get to have them more often. Then I went to Santa Fe and did the Christmas shopping. Now everyone will have a present. Today was church, a bit of art when i got bored and Grandma's annual Christmas party for the choir people from church. it was good. I got to catch up with Angela and Aaron. And now I am bored again, watching Pirates of the Carribean and editing old photos from Italy. Behold below: My lovely friend Brittany :D Also I really love this song, and album by HIGHS. Just take a listen and enjoy. |
