In other news Christmas day was pretty great and I got lots of sweet presents. Remember a while back when I said I was going to have to buy new camera lens? Well my parents got me three new lens for Christmas. I am super lucky :D Anyway I hope all of you have had a good break so far. And here are a few pictures from my grandma's house on Christmas morning.
So incase you you ever considered getting sick over Chrismtas: Don't do it. Four of us got stomach flu yesterday and it was bad news. I was literally bed ridden for 8 hours yesterday. It was really boring not to mention all the awful parts that go along with stomach flu. Today I am 100x better. Still not quite at full speed but I can eat solid food again so that's good.

Well Brianne and I made it home in one piece, and based on the time we left we made it home in 9 hours and 45 minutes. That is really fast. Especially since it was snowing part of the way and then really foggy another part of the way etc. Anyway when I got home I unpacked and ate dinner and then we kind of just sat around. With just three people we're a bit quiet and boring. We watched some tv and then I went to bed.
On Saturday I went to Chili Works and got myself a super light green with cheese, seriously the best burrito of my life and it is a travesty that I don't get to have them more often. Then I went to Santa Fe and did the Christmas shopping. Now everyone will have a present. Today was church, a bit of art when i got bored and Grandma's annual Christmas party for the choir people from church. it was good. I got to catch up with Angela and Aaron. And now I am bored again, watching Pirates of the Carribean and editing old photos from Italy. Behold below: My lovely friend Brittany :D Also I really love this song, and album by HIGHS. Just take a listen and enjoy. So The semester is almost over and I am so excited to get back to New Mexico. But let me me catch you up and tell a few stories.
So a story from today: Brianne and I spent the weekend in Salt Lake babysitting her little cousins and staying in this sweet house up in a fancy shmancy neighborhood. Anyway, this morning we decided to enjoy the hot tub. When we were finished, we got out put the cover back on it and went to open the door. It would not budge. We were locked out. We ran through the snow in our barefeet and wet swimsuits (This is DECEMBER remember) to a different back door: also locked. The we ran through more snow to the front door: also locked. Just when we were about to give up and head to a neighbors we saw that one of the garage doors was opened and we were saved. Pretty great luck we have eh? Other things of note.... Brianne and I ran a 5K race in Park City in October. It was my first race ever, and first 5k ever but it went really well. I got 35th overall and 5th in my age division, with an average pace of 9:30. Not too shabby. Also I did add the second major in Italian in case I didn't mention that before. Also also I am going back to Italy for an internship in the spring. It's for 7 weeks and I am hoping to get a spot in museum work but that is still undecided. Um, I went on a blind date set up by my cousin for me, and the date itself was lovely. It was my first date in nine months so I wasn't sure how it would go. The guy was great really nice and easy to talk to. We had a pretty good time. Unfortunately he looked surprisingly similar to my ex boyfirend so that kinda put a damper on it on my end. It was great in every other respect so who knows. If he ever asked me out again I would say yes I think, but who knows whether that will even happen. Also also also I just signed up for a second TA job so during winter semester I will be working two jobs to help me pay for Italy and the aftermath which is called being broke. So yeah those are some of the main highlights from this semester. From Park City, this is what it looked like on the day of our run :D |
